Meet Bobby Hackel

At age 5, Bobby IV started his racing career at Dodge City. After 2 years experience, he switched to racing Go-Karts at Caroga Creek. In 2006, Bobby raced Go-Karts a total of 65 times racking up 42 wins in the process. After a total of 140 wins in the Go-Kart ranks accompanied by 3 Track Championships at Caroga Creek and 2 WKA Northeast Dirt Division Titles, Bobby decided that is was time to move up to the next level of racing.

In 2008, Bobby IV progressed to the Slingshot cars winning a total of 9 features including the season ending event at Albany Saratora Speedway. At seasons end, Hackel was second in points at Caroga Creek; winning the Caroga Creek Tour between Mountain View, Dodge City and Caraoga Creek.

Out of 1,500 Slingshots registered in the eastern part of the country, Hackel ranked fourth overall in 2008. For the 2009 racing season, Bobby IV raced Slingshots at Caroga Creek, Lebanon Valley, the Caroga Creek Tour and the Tobias tour before moving up to a budget Sportsman towards the end of the season.

In 2100 Bobby IV raced exclusively Budget Sportsman. In his first year in Budget Sportsman Bobby placed second in overall points at Lebanon Speedway in which he won once and placed in the top 5 many times. In 2011, Hackel racing shifted over to racing asplalt at Devils Bowl and Albany Saratoga Speedway. Once again, Bobby “The Kid” Hackel showed his skill in going to the front with 1 win and placing second in poins halfway through the season. At this point, Hackel Racing changed back to dirt racing at Lebanon Valley where he scored 2 wins there and showed his skills at moving from the back of the pack each time racing to the front. With this showing, the team decided to go to Syracuse, “The Monster Mile”.

At Syracuse, Bobby “The Kid” Hackel displayed the outstanding talent that he has demonstrated throughout his racing career by having 1 of the fastest hot laps of all Budget Sportsman. He qualified third for the big Budget Sportsman race. In the Budget Futures race, which is for any driver who has not previously competed at “The Moody Mile”, Bobby won with a half lap lead. In the main event Budget Sportsman race starting third, although passing both the first and second placed cars at different times he worked hard to secure a very close second place finish and received “Rookie of the Race” award.

2012 has brought several wins and high placement in the points at both Albany Saratoga Speedway and the high banks of Lebanon Valley Raceway. This year Bobby will be racing a limited number of 358 Sportsman races and in the first event of the year he started 14th and finished 6th. A strong showing for “The Kid”.
