Hackel History

Bobby Hackel is the fourth generation of the Hackel racing family which includes his great- grandfather, grandfather and his father. All have the same first and last names but each with a different middle initial Bobby’s great-grandfather raced at the Burden Lake Speedway during his racing career.

His grandfather was best known for his successes in the mini-stock division and is known along the east coast as “Mr Mini-Modified”. He also is a winner of the Lifetime Contribution to Racing Award in memory of Ken Shoemaker. Bob Sr was inducted into the NYSSCA Hall of Fame in 2001. Bobby’s father has 5 feature wins in the Sportsman Division at Fonda. He retired in 2004 when it became evident that his son, Bobby IV, was becoming a very successful Go-Kart racer.
