2013 Season Start Up

Bobby Hackel Wins two Championship awards.

The 2012 Racing season was an outstanding success for 97, Bobby Hackel Racing.  Winning multiple championships in their division, they established themselves as a strong racing team.  Having won or placed top in many championships during 2012, the team felt they needed to challenge themselves and the driver going into 2013.
During the off-season the decision was made to move Bobby Hackel IV up to the Big Block Modified division.  This is a big step for it alters everything that was known by both driver and crew.  Just before the season opener there was a small hiccup to the program.  During warmup laps with the new car  a mechanical failure the put them into the wall.  Bobby was okay though the car was now out of commission.  Thankfully the team was able to gain access to a another car (on loan) and that put Bobby Hackel back in the race.

The first few showings with the back up car were tentative as the team learned about racing at this level.  Bobby took care to not damage this car so while the finish results were not typical, they reflected a deft touch and control for he was still able to place mid-pack in most races.  In the 2013 season Bobby Hackel is already showing the maturity that is needed to drive with such horse power on short tracks.

While he is racing, the 97 car is being repaired and tuned to win.  Soon the 97 racing team will be back on track with Bobby Hackel having gained important experience to exploit with the new car.  The start of the season was not what they hoped for, but sometimes you have to deal with growing pains.  Look for Bobby Hackel and his team to start making steady progress towards the front as the season continues.
